Little Miss Sunshine

Ohhh Malcolm!

This was his second attempt at taking a passport picture because on the first attempt he

was supposedly showing too much teeth!

Which is hard to imagine from this photo.

Mal was smiling so hard that he showed teeth? REALLY?!?

Nawwww - more likely

ROARING or GROWLING like a ferocious man-eating tiger and that's why

his teeth were showing ;-)

GOSH - I wish crazy auntie Lolo had been there to encourage it!

I do love a good photo shoot.

*sigh

I love where I come from and all those family genes.

Miss you little Mal.

Why I should never have a microphone...

If I had remembered that I was being photoed maybe I would have

looked better when talking (is that even possible?)?!?!?!

NAWWWWWWWW!

You are right - never would I be allowed to talk/interview/debate publicly.

These pictures say it all.

At least sometimes - I can keep my mouth shut!

To All My Teacher Friends

I was looking for help about HOW TO TEACH students to write good questions.

Specifically for Cranium.

This newsletter about a BOOK in the Harvard Education Letter helped

Teaching Students to Ask Their Own Questions

One small change can yield big results

Question Formulation Technique - Produce Your Questions

Four essential rules for producing your own questions:
• Ask as many questions as you can.
• Do not stop to discuss, judge, or answer the questions.
• Write down every question exactly as it is stated.
• Change any statement into a question.

Improve Your Questions

• Categorize the questions as closed- or open-ended.
• Name the advantages and disadvantages of each type of question.
• Change questions from one type to another.

Prioritize the Questions

• Choose your three most important questions.
• Why did you choose these three as the most important?

Next Steps
• How are you going to use your questions?   LINK TO ARTICLE is http://www.hepg.org/hel/article/507#home

Need a Riddle?

One of my favourite riddles to date...

...and I'm really no good at these things!

However, my student just EAT THEM UP!
Do have any good riddles for me, that I can use in class?
I would LOVE to hear'em!

Here's riddle #1

Alive without breath,
As cold as dealth,
Never thirsty, ever drinking
All in mail, never clinking

I didn't say it was hard - did I?
Do you know the answer?
HINT: It's an animal.
I really DISLIKED riddle #2

A box without hinges, key or lid.
Yet inside golden treasure is hid.

Did I mention how much I disliked this one?

Alright - back to work (writing a unit on Gender Roles in History Gr. 7)

UGH!

(smiling - really do love it)

It's just a CRAP load of work sometimes!

What's for dinner when you no FRIDGE?

Broken fridge = broken heart for Lauren Wells.

Because not only did all my HOME MADE mayo and pesto have to

be tossed but what the HECK do I eat for dinner?

This is what I came up with.

Ugh - I hate being healthy!

;-)

Would you eat this Peter?

Yeah, you're right.

Too many colours - HA!
