The recent Paris attacks have left me kinda stuck.
Stuck on the idea that things are going to get a lot worst
before they get any better.
Although I'm known to be a little pessimistic,
I ain't the only one on this matter.
World leaders and different journals,
news reports and expert analysts
have all said the same thing...
....that if we response, we are just FEEDING the fire.
And we did.
And we have.
And we will continue to do so.
Do I know what the answer is?
Absolutely not.
But THEN what are you getting at Lauren???
How the HECK do I explain this issue to a Grade 6 student?
Inform them of the facts?
Done.
Be neutral about where you stand?
Done and done.
BUT
I feel like there is this huge, ugly, dark, cloud
coming this way....correction.
CLEARY IT'S COMING THIS WAY
and it will bring nothing but more pain.
So, what should I say?
So what do I say?
Like a damn fool,
I turned and looked the other way, taking the rest of my students' attention with me.
I stupidly lead them back to something that was more
light,
warm,
wonderful,
inspiring,
uplifting,
and BRIGHT!
To sum up?
I lost my lady balls as a teacher.
I am not sure if that was the right thing to do.
And to be honest?
I would like to know what other teachers think,
say or do in their own classrooms on this matter..
Cuz at this point?
I think I am the one who is refusing to acknowledge
that dark, ugly-looking, cloud.
Or
I could just have another coffee and really forget my troubles?
Done & done.
So...yeah.
...
Things and people bring darkness in to the world but because who you are you bring joy and smiles to all that know you and we are so much blessed for this so much love from uncle Brian
