You should do your JOB!

I was sent this link the other day from a friend, the e-mail was titled...perspective.

It took me a week to actually sit down, open the e-mail and watch this comedy sketch but

when I finally did this morning over breakfast - OH MY WORD!

I chocked on a mouthful of porridge and pumpkins seeds LAUGHING so hard!

If you need a laugh, than this is three minutes you are not going to want to miss.

Just saying.

Obama Making Me Smile when I Really Feel Like Butt

***
Jacob spoke first.
“I want to know if my hair is just like yours,” he told Mr. Obama, so quietly that the president asked him to speak again.
Jacob did, and Mr. Obama replied, “Why don’t you touch it and see for yourself?” He brought his head level with Jacob, who hesitated.
“Touch it, dude!” Mr. Obama said.
As Jacob patted the presidential crown, Mr. Souza snapped.
“So, what do you think?” Mr. Obama asked.
“Yes, it does feel the same,” Jacob said.
***
This makes me smile every time I see it - then I go back to wincing.
Yes, I am being a baby but doodes, my legs are SWOLLEN
and my whole body still aches from this run - ugh!
Maybe heels weren't the best recovery footwear yesterday?
Just shoot me.

Feel a little broken :-(

When in doubt, drive to Ottawa, blast a good play list and just run a marathon.

No big deal...except I feel absolutely terrible.

What a baby, I know.

(my coffee didn't even make me smile this morning -

maybe more foam on the next one would help?)

Although it was sooo nice to see so many friends&family.

Ohhhh Ottawa, how I missed you!

Sad to be back in Toronto on a MONDAY but will be back home soon.

*sigh

p.s. No, I did not run a 3:10 time like a very good Swiss friend of mine...more like 3:42.

Pleasantly surprised.

Learn it from a Suisse Professional

Sometimes when I miss old friends whom I consider family...

I just watch re-runs of your time spent together.

In this video, Jérémy is showing Doro and Lucia how to row on an erg machine.

Pretty spectacular.

Yours truly is the videographer.

I miss my dear friends.

Thank goodness it's Friday and I can day dream about them.

Doo You Know?

The W.C.

W.C., short for Water Closet, is the common term for toilet in parts of Europe and

is usually referred to in abbreviated terms.

In France, it's pronounced "le vay say,"

In Netherlands, "way say," and in

Germany, "vay tsay."

Canada?

We lovingly call it the "shitter"

I'm already having one of those days.

(grumble-grumble-woke up on the wrong side of the bed)

Finding happy leftovers - YUM!

Have your ever kept clothes that didn't really belong to you?

As in, clothes from past relationships?

Specifically men's clothing that well, you just love because they fit so well

and

look sooo good on you?

(who cares who they really belonged to, their yours now- right?)

Is that weird? Naaaaaw, there's gotta be more people out there who can relate

to what I'm talking about.

Anybody...?

Besides, being reminded of those you loved can never be a bad thing.

Well, at least for me - it puts a smile on my face every time.

*happy sigh

Friday 18 May 2012

*sigh...tired.

This is how I feel today...after getting beat up at Combative Class last night.

p.s. I think it's weird that yesterday's post got me the most hits ever...more than
Critsty Nurse's photoshoot pictures - really?

Am I really that easy to laugh at?

Don't answer that question.

;-)

My dream day.

wake early
breakfast (crusty bread with butter and marmalade)
tend to the garden and fences
kiss behind the woodpile
hike to the silo on the neighbor’s land to peek inside
walk to the cottonwood grove where we found the thing that might be an arrowhead
picnic in the cool shade (salad, berries, summer sausage and cheese)
fool around as the day slips past us
return home as slowly as possible, saying hello to every bush and critter
nap in the porch swing, holding hands
quiet reflection and idea-sharing
late dinner of whatever’s in the fridge
whiskey dessert
stargazing
kissing
loving
dreams

Birthdays that go BOOM!

Today is Dave's birthday.

David Author Wells is one of my older brothers.
He is the most serious and responsible of the three.
Bryan has always been a bit crazy, all over the place and outgoing, like me.
My little brother Everett was the one I could boss around. Make him play horsie with and beat him up if he refused.
But David always reminded me a lot of my dad.

Growing up, I often thought, I don't need another "dad" bossing me around and telling me what to do!
All throughout high school, he called me out constantly for fighting with mom or
doing something really stupid, which happened often.
I did a LOT of stupid things in high school.
When I moved away for university I remember thinking finally
FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM!
No Dad, no Dave, no ANYONE telling me what to do.
*happy sigh.

But the truth is, Dave's voice got stuck in my head.
I couldn't do anything really stupid without hearing him say,
"Lo, do you really need to do this?"
Bahhhhhh!.

Now that I am older and wiser, I see why it was so important to have a Dave in my life.
Thank God Dave was serious and responsible – he had to be, for all of us!
Throughout all these years, he has been our ROCK.
He cares about his family. A lot.
So much that he will go above and beyond to help you whenever possible.
He is thoughtful and always kind.
Generous with family and practically a natural when it comes resolving problems & disputes
(there are a lot in our family - hah)
He makes time to listen but will also take charge and be a leader
when decision needs to be made and shit needs to get done.
And Jesus, his pain tolerance is impressive! He should have rowed :-)
The truth is, Dave has saved my butt numerous times. He has given me great advice over
the years, even when it came to men – ugh!
He has taught me a lot about love, life and what it means to be a good friend, sister and
 partner.
And he is one of the only people who can make me laugh at the worst of times!

Happy Birthday Dave.
I think you are pretty great and it's official,
You are my favourite brother now! Shhh, don’t tell Bry and Ev.
;-)
Love, Lo

What does YOUR dream park look like?

Top things that I look for in a park...PONY RIDES #1

A place to swim.

Multiple fire-pits for outdoor picnics and responsible cooking!

Or just a fabulous dessert place IN the park - forget cooking!

A tower to climb and steal a great view.

Long row of trees with many paths to lose your way while running...
it's fun getting lost every now and then - no?

Weird looking birds are a must, ones that eat leftover hotdog buns from fire-pit area.

You can never have enough weird looking birds.

At least one "show" fountain.

And at least a dozen DRINKING fountains for visitors.

Play things for both kids and adults is key.

Coffee shops are a must - one can never have enough coffee in life.
Speaking of coffee, MONDAY MORNING MADNESS begins...
going to re-fill my cup!

Enjoy!

Saturday 12 May 2012

Do I have everything?

Got my bike - CHECK !

Got my helmet - CHECK !

All I need is a road...preferably one with swiss mountains in the background but
I don't see that happening for a while.

Semi - CHECK !

Be safe when riding, floss regularly, eat all your veggies and
have a good weekend!

BOOM!

Friday 11 May 2012

I know I said no more babies but...

I just had to share this...excuse the terrible video angle :-(

Dear Friday, thank you for coming so soon.

Bah-hah!

Wednesday 9 May 2012

GRRR - His name is Bunk

Do you see this thing? This CAT?

Well, his name is Bunk and I have a very strong dislike for this NON-STOP purring creature.

He gets into my room (he can throw his body weight against the door if I don't shut it properly) and eat the one plant I have in here...to which he always pukes up.
Give or take 5 - 10 mins.

I don't get it? Why the heck eat something that you know makes you sick?
It's gross, I hate it.

And he is also CONSTANTLY looking to be pet while I'm in the middle of a workout.
Imagine trying to get the last bit of an upside-down push up and suddenly there is a cat underneath you lovingly trying to head butt you or playfully paw at your hanging shirt.

BUUUUUUUNK - Piss off - Hisssssssssssssssss!

This was my morning.
This is my morning 3 out of 5 weekday mornings.
Ugh.

The only reason why I like having him around is that every now and then my little nephew will accidentally step on his tail and well, Bunk's overdramatic wail is like music to my ears.

It's confirmed, I hate this bloody-annoying cat.
I'm done.

The Solo Morning Run

I think I know why people have dogs...so someone can drag their ass out of bed and out the door, across the lawn, down the street, up the hill, down the hill, around the track for speed work and back up and down the hill, getting home red faced and exhausted after a good workout.

Did I mention that it was peeing rain this morning?
Perhaps I just need a new playlist?
Or a better imagination?
I could pretend there is someone/something running beside me?
*le sigh

I just wanted a dog to run with this morning.

Silly-stupid, I know.

Monday 7 May 2012

Stupid Beauty Curler-Thingyssssss!

I went to bed last night thinking, this is gonna be great.
I will wake up fresh and my hair READY TO GO!
Look how excited I was!
YES, even with that giant bear in the background.
(of course I manage to get a picture of my freaking bear...it's cuz I live with my nephew?)

Anywho - woke up this morning feeling like I was hung-over.
Worst sleep of my life...stupid curler things didn't let me rest my head/neck one bit.
My neck feels weird and isn't working properly.
Oh and when I went to take these curl things out, they just ripped-out half my hair.
(*!+**!!?"&+!?%()/*ç*****!)
So here I am, half balled, bitchy and sporting my normal every Monday look.

"Ms.Wells did you get your head stuck in a vacuum or something?
Warning to students: Back OFF!

Ugh - typical, just plain typical.

:-)

Friday 4 May 2012

Do I have to?

My nephew Malcolm loves it when Auntie Lolo wear this hat in the house.

I know what you're thinking and let me just stop you right there.

Yes, I am such a HUGE sucker for kids - UGH!
(it's embarrassing really)

Besides it's Friday, why not look like a GOOF for breakfast?

What have you done lately that is considered "goofy"?

Mmm?

Speaking of goofy...here is the little monkey himself.

Malcolm John Wells.

Alright, alright. Next week no more about silly babies and more stuff about other stuff!

Done.

BOOM!

Enjoy your weekend.

Thursday 3 May 2012

Mr. SUN

PLEASE COME OUT AND PLAY !

Not enjoying the ugly rain clouds a coming...although the non-stop singing robins do help.

Gosh, I need a pair of sunglass like that.

My adorable nephew Mr. Happy.
